Silence is completely free,
readily available in limitless abundance,
accessible by all people,
leaves no residue, has no side effects
and is absolutely guaranteed to result in peace.
In the year 2000, one morning while sitting in silent meditation, I had a great awakening. A great silence spanned limitless space and time. In this silence was not just a moment of peace, it was “The Moment of Peace”. It was a great moment of clarity and I realised deeply that the way I’d been viewing the world up until that point, the way we all view the world, was all backwards. I had been seeking happiness for myself at the expense of others – how was there to be any real peace in the world in this way? It was a profound experience that changed my life, and since then I’ve been working to heal my own life and come to understand the nature of this peace.
Now, more than a decade on, I want to share this message and it is my wish that all people come to experience and understand the simple importance of silence and peace in their lives and come to embrace it as part of their daily routine. The world is filled with different lives, different paths, different faiths and different ways, yet we all share some things in common – we are all human and thus share the same pains, we all long for peace, and we can all share silence … together.
A Busy World, A Confused Life
Over many hundreds of years we’ve created a very busy world - full of noise, tension, desperation, materialism and unhappiness. As we’ve become busier, we’ve also become more unhappy and out of control. Haven’t you noticed? Yet we all seek the same thing – happiness and peace. In our busy-ness and desperation, we are increasingly getting further off track. We all feel this, we all notice this, yet at the same time we all wonder how to get it back on course.
We are taught in school a lot of knowledge that is very helpful but little to nothing about the nature of our human condition, how we can calm the mind when it is busy, how we heal our problems, and how we can create real peace and happiness for ourselves and others. Experiencing silence is a life skill that when practised daily can help us find our way back to a more meaningful way of living and being. It is this message I would like the world to not only understand, but to experience
Our mission is to introduce every person to Mindful Silence, Meditation and Prayer as a simple and essential life skill, so that it becomes commonly known to be as necessary for our lives as eating is for our bodies.
Through this we can not only change ourselves but also change the world and live a much fuller, richer life.
Happiness Is Not In Isolation
We live in a busy world that is consumed with materialism, self-obsession, self-image, self-worth and individual happiness at the expense of each other. Peace will never be achieved in this way. We cannot ultimately be happy within ourselves if we are not also making others happy. Your happiness does not stand alone in the world in isolation to others. We must realise deeply that our happiness is dependent upon and relies upon the happiness of others. Through silence, compassion, kindness and generosity for others, there is peace in our own hearts.
The Simplicity of Mindful Silence
Through simply being silent and mindful regularly, in meditation or prayer or similar practice, we allow the differences in our lives, the views, the agitation, upset, worry, anger to calm down. Through this simple action we allow ourselves to heal gradually both internally, externally and with each other. It is incredibly simple and yet incredibly powerful. It is through this that we can all experience real peace.
Life does not require anything of us for this transformation but to simply be aware, present and silent. It does not require that you believe me, it only requires that you are willing to explore you own experience of life and evaluate it honestly.
This is the human condition that we all share and it is within your ability to do this.
“The Moment of Peace” is your chance to start making a difference.
In Kindness,
